Welcome to a quiet and genuine husky experience guided by experts, shaped by tradition and shared at the pace of the dogs.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll notice a different rhythm. There’s no rush, no crowds just a small group of 8 to 12 guests and the calm presence of people who have spent years living this life. This is a tour designed for those who want to slow down, observe and truly feel the connection between the dogs, the musher and the Arctic landscape.
The Experience
Jaakko, Sirkka Liisa and the team will welcome you and introduce you to his huskies each one part of a team he has worked with for years. Before setting off, you’ll learn a bit about the dogs and the way they work together, giving you a deeper understanding of what you’re about to experience.
You’ll then settle comfortably into the sled while a professional musher guides the team. There’s no need to drive, this is your time to relax and take everything in.
The 5 km journey moves through peaceful forest trails and open snowy areas, where the only sounds are the sled gliding over snow and the steady rhythm of the dogs. Without the responsibility of driving, you’re free to look around, take photos and simply be present in the moment.
The ride lasts around 20 to 30 minutes, offering a calm and immersive introduction to life on the trail.
The Dogs
Jaakko’s team consists of around 30+ Siberian huskies, known for their calm nature, endurance and strong bond with their musher. These dogs are not only working companions but part of a long-standing way of life.
Their quiet focus and steady energy create a very different feeling on the trail, less about speed, more about harmony.
After the Ride
Back at the kennel, there’s time to step out of the sled and meet the dogs more closely. You’ll have the chance to pet them, take photos and observe how they interact with each other in a more relaxed setting.
Afterward, you’ll be invited to warm up inside a traditional Finnish hut, where homemade snacks and warm drinks are served. This is also where the experience deepens through storytelling, conversation and shared moments. You’ll hear about the dogs, the lifestyle and the many years behind what you’ve just experienced.
Who Is This Tour For?
Jaakko’s Journey 5KM is ideal for guests who prefer a peaceful, sit-back experience without driving. It’s well suited for families, couples, elderly guests and anyone looking for a more traditional and grounded introduction to husky sledding.
No prior experience is needed, and the focus is on comfort, safety, and meaningful connection.
This is not just a ride, it’s a moment to slow down and witness the quiet partnership between musher and dogs, built over time and trust.
A simple, honest experience, just as it has always been.

During the season 2026/2027, we charge an extra fee of 10 euros per person.
Self driving tours are driven by your self, we will explain you how to drive, set the team for you and let you drive on our tracks. Self driving seems really complicated but with our easy trails the only thing you have to do is to control the speed by pressing partially the break (Like going downhill with a vehicle).
Musher-driven tours are driven by us, we will take full control of the sled and let you sit down and relax. We will have more dogs and have more speed as we have a better control.
We always recommend to wear as many layers as you need plus one extra layer (If you are really sensitive to the extra heat, you can carry it in a backpack the extra layer). It is always better to remove a layer than to feel so cold that there is nothing that can warm you up.
We offer overalls in some of our tours but if you don’t have anything under, it won’t help as much.
In the beginning of the tour, there isn’t much time as we have to explain the instructions and dogs are really excited to start so they are not happy to wait for too long. We will help you in the halfway of the trail to take your phone and take a picture of you*.
Then after the drive part, we will have plenty of time to take pictures of the surroundings and the dogs!
*Passengers can take pictures and videos while the driven part, drivers are not allowed to take their hands of the handle bar.
If they want, you are more than welcome to pet them after the ride. Same as us, sometimes dogs are having rough days and they might not want so much or any petting at all. (Bad night, eating something funny, disagreement with the neighbors, etc)
We don’t force the dogs to pose for our guests but we invite them to join us.
We would love that everyone sees our kennel and let you be with our dogs but even the dogs they need their own free time without social interaction or “work” as the physical rest is important the mental rest is essential for their welfare.
No, you won't need to drive as the musher will do it for you.
